CHARACTER BUILDING
EYC believes it's important to teach youth to become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process. Youth develop leadership skills by planning, making decisions, and contributing to the Club and community.
HEALTHLY LIFESTYLES
Lifestyle programs focus on teaching positive behaviors that nurture youth well-being. Members learn valuable like skills and set personal goals for future success. We host cooking, nutrition, and sewing classes.
CATERING & BUSINESS CLUB
The Business Club offers a work-readiness curriculum. Youth learn about workforce development, ethics, and about post-secondary education. The program worked to develop a real business and now runs a food truck, and most recently is catering events including Christmas parties, sports banquets, company luncheons, The Cowboy Joe event, and weddings.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Physical fitness is a positive use of leisure time, develop skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills. Our programs include boxing, work outs, running, gym games, and lots of sports.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
We host daily Power Hour with tutoring and homework help. Club staff and teachers review Members grades and work with students to improve their academic performance. Teens meet to discuss college requirements, necessary testing, and scholarship opportunities.
ART
Develop creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
STEM
Stem programs provide a great opportunity to challenge club members while also having fun. From cardboard boats, to building a robot and developing an app for the Tacos & Treats food truck. The possibilities are endless.
YOUTH OF THE MONTH
Youth of the month award is given to members who exemplify the values and mission of the Evanston Youth Club and stand out as leaders and examples to their peers.
